IPadOS 18 Debacle: Apple’s Latest Blunder Leaves M4 iPad Pro Users in the Dark as Update Gets Abruptly Pulled
iPadOS 18 Update Causes Issues for iPad Pro M4 Users
Apple recently launched the latest iPadOS 18, adding practical computing functions and a personalized home screen that can be customized like iOS 18. However, for some users of the M4 chip version of iPad Pro, this update has turned out to be a disaster.
Many users reported that after updating to iPadOS 18, they found that their device could not be turned on or even restored via a computer. This issue prompted Apple to hastily halt the iPadOS 18 update for the iPad M4 Pro. On social platforms, including Reddit and Apple forums, some users have even reported that their iPad Pro M4 “bricked” and became completely inoperable after installing iPadOS 18.
Users who experienced this issue have taken to social media to share their experiences. One user stated, “My iPad became bricked after installing iPadOS 18. After Apple confirmed the problem, it said the device needed to be sent back to the engineering department for processing before it could be replaced. Even with Apple Care, there can be no immediate resolution.”
Netizens on the Taiwan PTT social forum have also responded to the issue, with some users reporting that they are unable to update their iPad Pro M4 devices. However, other iPad models are not affected, and users can still continue to update.
Although Apple has not officially responded to this issue, the suspension of the iPadOS 18 update for the M4 iPad Pro suggests that the impact of this issue is widespread. It is expected that a corrective plan will be launched in the coming days.
