Despite ongoing international tensions and the potential for renewed⁤ UN sanctions, Iran’s Oil Minister stated on Wednesday that the country is currently experiencing no significant obstacles in exporting crude oil. ⁤Daily exports have reportedly increased by 21,000 barrels during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to July 21, 2024) compared⁤ to the same period last year, suggesting resilience in the face of external pressures.

European “Snapback” Triggered

France, Germany, and the United Kingdom initiated a one-month countdown on ⁢August 29, 2024, for the potential automatic ‍reinstatement of UN sanctions on Iran, a process known as “snapback.” The Oil Minister downplayed the impact of this move,⁢ suggesting that ⁢existing U.S. sanctions‍ already account for the limitations ‍on Iranian oil exports.

dispute Over Arash/dorra Gas Field Continues

The Oil Minister also addressed the ongoing dispute with Kuwait over the Arash gas field (also known ⁤as the Dorra gas field).⁢ he confirmed ⁤that exploratory drilling approximately 750 meters from the old boundary line has proven the existence of hydrocarbon reserves. The Iranian Foreign Ministry is ‍currently coordinating with relevant⁤ parties to clarify the legal status of the field.

Once the legal⁣ framework is established, iran intends to proceed with development of the field in ⁢accordance with its Seventh ⁣Development Plan. the plan likely outlines strategies for energy‍ development and revenue generation, underscoring the importance of the gas field to Iran’s ⁢economic objectives.
