Iran’s Atomic Energy Institution (AEOI) head, Mohammad Eslami, announced advancements in ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States. Speaking at a conference in Sari, northern Iran, eslami dismissed any discussion of halting uranium enrichment, labeling such proposals as “delusional narratives.”
Eslami highlighted Iran’s nuclear energy achievements, stating that the Bushehr nuclear power plant generated 7.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity last year. The country aims to increase its nuclear power capacity to 3,000 megawatts by the end of its Seventh Development plan. Land has been secured for two new power plants in the north and south of Iran.
A 20-year strategic plan targets 20,000 megawatts of nuclear-generated electricity, according to Eslami. He also cited advances in plasma therapy, laser technology, and quantum technologies. Iran’s domestically produced radiopharmaceuticals are globally competitive, he added.
