Iranian Sailors Rescued: Indian Crew Members Among Those Released

New Delhi: On April 13, the Iranian army captured MSC. All 24 crew members on board the Aries were released. 17 of them, including three Malayalis, are Indians.

Second officer from Wayanad PV Dhanesh (32), second engineer Shyamnath (31) from Calicut, third engineer S. from Palakkad. Sumesh is the Malayali who was on the ship. Deck cadet Anne Tessa Joseph, a native of Thrissur, was released earlier.

Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian announced that all the workers will be released in a telephone conversation with Estonian Foreign Minister Marges Sahkna on Friday. Other workers come from Estonia, Philippines, Pakistan and Russia. Portuguese-flagged MSC is jointly owned by Israeli national Eyal Ofer. Aries ship.
