Iraqi Shia Group Claims to Have Launched Cruise Missile Towards Tel Aviv

The Islamic Resistance, an armed Shia group in Iraq, claimed to have launched a cruise missile towards Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Islamic Resistance announced in a statement on the 3rd (local time) that it used the Al-Arqab advanced cruise missile to target Israel’s Beersheba and Tel Aviv in turn the night before.

Reuters also reported, citing sources, that the Islamic Resistance had launched a cruise missile at Tel Aviv. This is the first time that an armed group from Iraq has targeted Tel Aviv, where Israeli administrative agencies and diplomatic missions are concentrated.

However, the Israeli daily Jerusalem Post reported that no missiles launched from Iraq entered Israel on this day, and no related warnings were issued.

At the same time, he explained that there have been several cases of missiles from Iraq crossing into Israel since the war between the Palestinian armed faction Hamas and Israel that broke out in October last year, but that related organizations issue statements only in cases where the Israeli authorities reported no missiles.
