Group A Draw Announced

Ireland has been drawn into Group A for the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers, alongside North Macedonia, Luxembourg, and Azerbaijan. The draw took place on Monday in Riga, Latvia,‍ setting the stage for the first qualifying campaign under newly appointed head coach micheal Bree.

Bree, who took the helm in July, expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge. He stated the pre-qualifiers will provide an “excellent prospect to test ourselves against quality competition in Europe” and is eager to begin preparations with the team.

Ireland’s journey‍ begins with an away game against Luxembourg on Thursday, November 27, 2025. They will then return home to host top seeds North Macedonia on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the National⁢ Basketball Arena in ⁢Dublin.
