“Is this a stinky (shared) prequel?” Netflix’s reaction to the release of 3 Hwang Dong-hyuk’s movies

[스포츠서울 | 박효실기자] The OTT platform Netflix, which achieved record-breaking achievements with the global blockbuster ‘Squid Game’, decided to release the three previous films of ‘Netflix’ director Hwang Dong-hyeok in the US market, and interesting reactions from fans were pouring out.

Netflix headquarters posted on its official Twitter on the 4th (local time), “Director Hwang Dong-hyuk directed a well-received Korean feature film before making the visually stunning and socially influential ‘Squid Game’. And three of those films were in the United States. You can watch it on Netflix of !” and introduced three films to be released to American fans.

They were ‘The Crucible (2011)’, ‘Miss Granny (2014)’ and ‘Namhansanseong Fortress (2017)’. In particular, ‘The Crucible’ was a work in which Gong Yoo, who appeared in ‘Squid Game’ as a squid man, starred, and when the trailer was released, the reaction from fans was hot.

The response to the comedy ‘Miss Suspicious Woman’, which deals with the story of a grandmother who returns to a 20-year-old girl overnight, was also hot. One fan responded, “I’m watching the K-drama ‘Run On’ right now, and I need to see this tonight.”

Even the interest in the heavy historical drama ‘Namhansanseong’, which depicts the story of Injo and the government ministers in the Byeongjahoran, was hot.
