Sahal Abdul Samad and George Dias netted for the Blasters
Madgaon: ATK Mohun Bagan won the first match of the eighth season of the Indian Super League (ISL). Bagan defeated Kerala Blasters by four goals to two.
Adnan Hugo Boumouss scored a brace for ATK, while Roy Krishna and Liston Colosso scored one goal each. Sahal Abdul Samad and George Dias netted for the Blasters.
Boomers gave the Blasters their first blow in the third minute as they came down with new hopes for the new season. Baumouse took the lead when Liston Colosso’s pass into the net with a beautiful long shot. However, in the 24th minute, KP Rahul’s pass was caught by Sahal Abdul Samad in the net of ATK to level the score for the Blasters.
Soon after, Roy put Krishna’s ATK back in the lead in the 27th minute through a penalty. Albino Gomez’s attempt to snatch the ball from Roy Krishna’s leg was foiled and ended in a penalty. Then, in the 38th minute, Baoums overcame Bijoy and scored the second goal to extend ATK’s lead. Meanwhile, Rahul was ruled out due to injury. So after the first half the score came to 3-1.
At the start of the second half, Liston Colosso scored the fourth goal for ATK. Colosso’s goal was to make the Blasters’ defenders a spectator. George Dias, 69, then scored the second goal for the Blasters to ease the pressure of defeat. The Blasters’ Bagan continued to try but failed to find the back of the net.

Three Malayalee players got a place in the first XI of the Blasters. Sahal Abdul Samad, Rahul KP and Bijoy won the seats. This is Bijoy’s debut match against the Blasters.
Foreign players Leskovic, Adrian Luna, Diaz and Vazquez are in the Blasters’ starting XI. Albino Gomez is the goalkeeper.
The Blasters are coming off a strong streak of young and foreign players. Ivan Vukomanovich is the new coach. The match will be played at Fatorda Stadium in Goa.
