Gwahati : Kerala Blasters with their second win in the Indian Super League 2022-23 season. Blasters, who lost three games in a row, beat North East United. The Hornets won by three uncontested goals. Malayalee Sahal Abdul Samad, who came on as a substitute in the second half, scored a double goal. Dimitrios Diamantakos scored the other goal. Nevertheless, it is true that the Blasters are unable to close the gap in defense completely.
Both teams created chances but the first half ended goalless. The North East players broke through the Blasters defense and rushed towards the Yellow Army goal several times. If they were either the post or goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill he would have hit it away.

In the second half too, Blasters had chances due to attacking football but could not convert any of them into goals. In the 56th minute, the Blasters split the Highlanders defence. Striker Dimitrios Diamantakos converted his first ISL goal when the North East defense failed to clear the ball from the right wing.
Despite scoring the first goal, Blasters continued to attack. Later, in the 65th minute, the coach brought Sahal onto the field. The coach’s decision was not wrong. The Malayali player scored two goals for Blasters. Zaheleti scored Blasters second goal exactly in the 20th minute. Then when the game reached injury time, Sahal scored the third goal to seal the win.
After consecutive defeats in the last three games, Blasters have returned to winning ways. With the win, Blasters moved up to seventh place in the table with six points from five games. Kerala Blasters next match is on Sunday, November 13. Goa is the opponent of Blasters in the match to be held in Kochi.
