International Outcry as Israel Announces Rafah Offensive Plan

A wave of condemnation has swept across the international community following Israel’s declaration of plans to intensify it’s military offensive in Rafah, Gaza. World leaders and organizations have expressed deep concern over the potential for increased civilian casualties,a worsening humanitarian crisis,and the undermining of peace efforts.
Global condemnation from Key Nations
Numerous countries have voiced strong opposition to the Israeli plan, signaling a growing rift in international support.
United Nations
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, stated the plan “goes against the decision of the International Court of Justice that Israel must end its occupation as soon as possible, of the realization of the agreed solution of two states and the right of the Palestinians to self-determination.”
Germany
Germany, traditionally a staunch ally of Israel, has shifted its policy, suspending weapons exports that could be used in the Gaza Strip. German government head Friedrich Merz stated it was “increasingly tough to understand” how the Israeli military plan would achieve legitimate objectives.
European union
Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Executive, demanded that “The Israeli government must reverse its decision to prolong its military operation in Gaza. A fire is promptly necessary.” The president of the European Council warned of “consequences” for EU-Israel relations.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry accused Israel of demonstrating “another clear sign of the manifest intention of the Zionist regime to carry out an ethnic cleaning in gaza and commit a genocide against the Palestinians.”
France
France “condemned in the strongest terms” the Israeli government’s plan, warning it could lead to “absolute blocking,” according to a statement from the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
United Kingdom
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the decision to intensify the offensive “a mistake,” urging Israel to reconsider immediately. He argued the action “will not contribute to put an end to the conflict or achieve the release of hostages. It will only cause more massacres.”
Jordan
King abdalá II of Jordan expressed his “categorical rejection” of the plan,stating it “undermines the solution of two states and the rights of the Palestinian people” during a conversation with Palestinian President Mahmud Abás.
Spain
Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares “firmly condemned” the decision, stating it would only cause “more destruction and suffering,” and called for a permanent ceasefire, massive humanitarian aid, and the release of all hostages.
China

The Chilean Foreign Ministry “vigorously” condemned the plan, stating it would leave Israel “de facto, in a condition of occupying power, with all the legal responsibilities that this entails under international humanitarian law.”
Egypt
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli plan “in the most energetic terms.”
