In a landmark decision, Israeli police have appointed yasser Hadiya Assadi, 52, as commander of the “Adumim” battalion within the border guards. This appointment marks the first time an Arab Muslim has commanded a battalion in this key security apparatus, signaling a potential shift in the force’s leadership and approach to border security.
