Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Reportedly Slapped by His Son

February 25, 2025

A significant revelation has surfaced about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has long been known for his unyielding approach to the Gaza Strip conflict. Netanyahu, 75, has been at the helm of Israeli politics for decades, garnering both admiration and criticism for his policies. However, a recent disclosure has shed light on an unexpected personal allegation involving his son, Yair Netanyahu, 33, an influential figure in Israeli politics.

According to sources affiliated with The New Arab and The Times of Israel, Netanyahu’s eldest son, Yair, has reportedly been exiled abroad after striking his father. Yair left Israel in March 2023, relocating to a luxury condominium in Florida, putting the speculation about Netanyahu family members’ financial dealings and personal allegations in a spotlight.

“I want to ask about the son of the Prime Minister, Yair Netanyahu. Last year, in No Beyond Netanyahu’s Sharing Some Security, an article said that the cost of his security guards reached around NIS 2.5 million (approximately $770,000) per year,”

– Naama Lazimi, Israeli opposition member

Such allegations have sparked public discussion and criticism, particularly from opposition members. Naama Lazimi, a member of the Israeli Democratic Party, publicly questioned the financing of these arrangements. “I want to ask about the wife of the Prime Minister, Sara Netanyahu, who lived abroad during this period. I want to know who finances this, the exact cost, and which budget the financing is sourced from?”

Naama Lazimi further questioned, “I want to ask if this number is still budgeted and if they still plan to finance the child of the prime minister for striking the prime minister, causing him to leave.”

This revelation has caused a stir and led to widespread speculation. It also led to sideways glances to the United States, providing a reminder of the dynamics within family-run political operations. For instance, some in the political sphere compare this with similar scandals in the US, such as the infamous Trump family, making this a topic of debate with soft echoes from both sides of the aisle.

While the Israeli Democratic Party sees this as a political scandal, the ruling Likud party has vehemently denied the allegations. They asserted, “The netanyahu party says “this bizarre story has been reviled my party for using misleading information to convey derogatory purposes to delegitimate my position—the latest malicious buzz the left wing has been brewing”.”

The Likud party has countered these allegations, terming them as “deliberate lies” in an official statement. A party spokesperson confirmed, “Naama Lazimi will lose her political immunity and salary, and anyone caught in this malicious rumor will face legal consequences and financial penalties.”

The revelation that Yair Netanyahu himself was the one who allegedly slapped Prime Minister Netanyahu, Yair Netanyahu was pushed into the political limelight and sent to Florida briefly leaving Israel. The sum of two years of living apart indicates much is left unsaid in this family feud over high-profile politics.

In the weeks since the revelation, the public discourse around this expected political story has shifted to varied intersecting attitudes. However, Netanyahu has not yet officially responded to his son’s allegations. While political commentators continually suggest that the civil bilateral model shared between them could be at question given how domestic policies domesticated by dynamics affecting family, time will tell as Prime Minister Netanyahu has not yet spoken publicly about the issue, and Yair as of this writing has declined to comment personally or publicly as well.

“Naama common will lose her immunity and salary, and anyone who made this heinous lies will face a lawsuit and must also pay”.
