Daejeon Shinsegae Art & Science, the 13th department store in Shinsegae, which will open in Daejeon on the 27th, is the largest complex in the Chungcheong region where you can enjoy various unique experiences such as science, relaxation and sports activities at once. It is presented as a cultural space. The goal is to provide a ‘new world of experience’ that has not been experienced in department stores until now by loading various overseas luxury brand stores that can lead customers’ visits, as well as content that will satisfy customers’ five senses.

According to Shinsegae on the 10th, ‘Hotel Onoma, Autograph Collection’, the ambitious work of Shinsegae President Jung Yoo-kyung and the first self-branded hotel introduced by Shinsegae, will open in line with the opening of Shinsegae Art & Science in Daejeon on the 10th. The hotel, which is currently accepting reservations for rooms, has a total of 171 rooms on 15 floors from the 5th to 7th and 26th to 37th floors of the Expo Tower. A swimming pool on the 26th floor overlooking the entire city center, fitness facilities on the 27th floor, guest rooms, banquet halls, and restaurants will also be introduced to attract business customers to Daejeon as well as family customers who want a unique experience combining shopping and vacation.

The science museum ‘Shinsegae Nexperium’, created in collaboration with KAIST researchers, is an edutainment space where you can enjoy science and culture at the same time, and it is the first private science academy in Korea with KAIST. It is characterized by introducing cutting-edge science through play in 2021, and consists of three themes of the future: robots, biotechnology, and space.

You can also meet the ‘Daejeon Expo Aquarium,’ the first media art combined aquarium in Korea. In a 4,200-ton tank, about 20,000 animals of 250 different species are displayed. Here, you can explore the ocean world through digital media. With the theme of Poseidon, the god of the sea in Greek mythology, statues made by foreign artists and the longest 27m LED screen in Korea will show colorful storytelling.

Following Starfield Hanam, Goyang, and Anseong, the first indoor sports theme park in Chungcheong Province, ‘Sports Monster’ provides more diverse rope courses, vertical slides, and art climbing experiences. You can also enjoy digital squash and baseball betting.

‘The Art Space 193’, a 193-meter-high observatory, a signature facility of the department store, attracts attention as the world’s only art observatory incorporating art. Here, you can experience the special exhibition of Olafur Eliasson, a world-famous installation artist.

Megabox Dolby Cinema, a premium multiplex cinema with both Dolby and boutique suites, will also open for the first time in Chungcheong Province. It is a premium cinema filled with lively sound and cutting-edge technology, with 7 theaters and 943 seats.

Food is also plentiful. ‘Shin Chai’, a Chinese food brand of Chef Liu Bang-nyeong, one of the four famous Chinese cuisine masters, ‘Hou Island’ with a local feel in Hong Kong, ‘Sushi Ho San’ by Lee Seung-cheol from Ariake at Hotel Shilla, and ‘Ban Mi Phuong’, a famous banh mi brand in Hoi An, Vietnam , Dosan Park’s casual Japanese dining, Chef Oh Jae-seong’s ‘Coal Mine’ welcomes customers.

Starbucks located on the 38th floor of the Expo Tower, you can enjoy the smell of coffee while looking at the city of Daejeon and the sunset.

Luxury brands are also attracting a lot of attention. At the same time as the store opening, more than 70 stores of popular luxury brands such as Gucci, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Tod’s, Valentino, Celine, Moncler, Brunello Cucinelli, Ferragamo and Burberry are scheduled to open. This is more than Shinsegae Department Store’s 13 stores nationwide, the second largest in Daegu.
