At the event held at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil, Seoul on this day, a total of 27 top-class singers appeared, including the popular girl group Ive, Red Velvet, Weekly, Classy, ​​Lightsome, NCT Dream, Drippin, and singer-songwriter Moojin Lee.

The Dream Concert, which started in 1995, is now in its 28th year.

However, in 2020 and last year, it was held online in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Red Velvet, the ‘best’ among the performers, said at a red carpet event, “I remember performing ‘Ice Cream Cake’ at my first Dream Concert in 2015. I remember what I did,” he said.

He also expressed his anticipation for the face-to-face performance after a long absence, saying, “I really missed the shouts and sang of the fans.”

NCT Dream also said, “Today’s choreography will probably be freestyle.” He said, “The movement will change depending on our mood at that time and the shouts of Czennies (NCT fans).”

He also jokingly said to Hallyu fans around the world, “(The reason I have to travel to Korea now) is because our NCT Dream is in Korea.”

In line with the status of K-Pop sweeping the world, the concert was broadcast live through various platforms around the world, including Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, the United States, Peru, and Brazil.

Prior to the event, from 4 pm, the pre-event red carpet was held and flash baptism poured on the stars.

In addition, various events such as karaoke booth experience, random play experience, and photo zone were held under the theme of ‘Falling in K-Pop in Korea’ at Jamsil Sports Complex auxiliary stadium.

The Korea Entertainment Producers Association and the Korea Tourism Organization, which hosted the event, thoroughly inspected whether the audience is wearing a mask properly, just in case, and put in more security, safety, and guide personnel than at the previous event.

Lim Baek-woon, president of the Celebrity Producers Association, said, “We wanted to revitalize the Korean performance industry, which had been shrunk, and to provide lasting impressions and memories to K-pop fans around the world.”
