Jack Osbourne has refuted claims that Black SabbathS final concert raised nearly $190 million for charity. The “Back To The Beginning” show took place at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5, and gained added importance following the death of Ozzy Osbourne less than three weeks later.
Immediately after the concert, Tom Morello, the Rage Against The Machine guitarist who musically directed the event, announced on Instagram that it had generated “more than $190 million” for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice. Ozzy’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, quickly disputed that figure, calling it “ridiculous.”
Now, Jack Osbourne has also dismissed Morello’s claim. Speaking on the Painful Lessons podcast, he stated, “The number was complete bullshit.” He added, “This is how you know the news is probably 90% bullshit.”
