Jadeja on the Cusp of History: Set to Join Elite Club Led by Kapil Dev with Six-Wicket Feat
Ravindra Jadeja on the Cusp of Another Historic Feat in Test Cricket
Ravindra Jadeja, India’s premier global cricketer, is on the verge of achieving another historic milestone. With just six more wickets needed, Jadeja can claim a remarkable career achievement in the Test series against Bangladesh. This feat will not only bring him closer to the 300-wicket club but also make him the third Indian all-rounder to score 3,000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket.
Kapil Dev currently tops the list with an impressive 5,248 runs and 434 wickets in 131 Tests. Ravichandran Ashwin, who has played 100 Tests so far, is second on the list with 3,309 runs and 516 wickets. Jadeja has scored 3,035 runs from 105 Tests and is yet to reach the 300-wicket club.
If Jadeja takes another six wickets, he will join an elite group of Indian cricketers who have achieved this feat. Currently, only six players have taken 300 wickets for India in Test cricket. Former leg-spinner Anil Kumble tops the list with 619 Test wickets, followed by Ravichandran Ashwin with 516 wickets, and Kapil Dev with 434 wickets. Former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is fourth among India’s wicket-takers with 417.
