Daniel Jadue’s Preventive Detention Revoked
The Third Court of Warranties has revoked the preventive detention of Daniel Jadue, who had been complying with this measure since June 3 last in the Captain Yáber’s Annex.
The former mayor of Recoleta was complying with this precautionary measure after being formalized for various corruption offenses within the framework of the Case of Popular Pharmacies. Now, he must comply with national origins and house arrest.
Daniel Jadue’s Lawyer Reacts
After the hearing held this Monday, Jadue’s lawyer, Juan Carlos Manriquez, stated that “the solution completely destroys the alleged crimes that were attributed to him, because with the new predecessors it is clear that these crimes never existed”.
“We are going to wait for the court’s decision and the departure order so that he can go home, but I repeat the most important thing today and that is that the court was able to see, with the new information received in the cause, that there was no chance it was linked to an alleged scam” he added.
Public Ministry’s Reaction
Meanwhile, the Public Ministry questioned that “today no new information has been provided by the defence. Those given, most of them, were already included in previous reviews (…)”. Along with that, they assured that they will try to reinstate Daniel Jadue’s preventive detention. ”There are legal channels that we are going to take action to reverse this situation.”
