Jaguars’ Lawrence, Engram Undergo shoulder Surgeries, Expected Back for Offseason Workouts
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and tight end Evan Engram both underwent shoulder surgeries earlier this week and are expected to be ready for offseason activities this spring, coach Doug Pederson announced wednesday.Lawrence had a procedure to repair an AC sprain in his left shoulder on Tuesday, while Engram had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder on Monday.Pederson confirmed that both surgeries were triumphant.
“Everything was positive in both players’ cases,” Pederson said. “We’re now looking forward to their recovery time.”
Lawrence,who hasn’t played since suffering a concussion against the Houston Texans on December 1st,was placed on injured reserve on December 4th. He had to be cleared from concussion protocol before undergoing surgery, which Pederson said happened Sunday morning. This marks the second time Lawrence has had surgery on the same shoulder; he underwent a procedure in February 2021 and was limited in his participation during the jaguars’ rookie minicamp and OTAs.Engram was placed on injured reserve on December 14th.
The Jaguars’ offseason workout program begins in April, with organized team activities (OTAs) commencing in May.
“In both cases, they’re not long-term, lengthy-type surgeries recovery time,” Pederson assured. “So, at some point this spring, they’ll be ready to go.”

Jacksonville, FL – Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and tight end Evan Engram underwent prosperous shoulder surgeries this week. Both players are projected to be ready for the team’s offseason program in spring, head coach Doug Pederson announced Wednesday.
Lawrence underwent a procedure to repair a left shoulder AC sprain on Tuesday. This marks the second surgery on the same shoulder for Lawrence, who underwent a procedure in February 2021. Engram had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder on Monday.
Both players were placed on injured reserve in December – Lawrence on December 4th and Engram on December 14th. Lawrence hadn’t played since suffering a concussion against the Houston Texans on December 1st. He had to be cleared from concussion protocol prior to undergoing surgery,which pederson said occurred Sunday morning.
Pederson emphasized that the recovery timeline for both players is not expected to be lengthy. The Jaguars’ offseason program commences in April, with organized team activities (otas) starting in May.
“at some point this spring, they’ll be ready to go,” assured Pederson.
