Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected the construction progress of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The inspection focused on the segment spanning from Bundaran HI to Kota, with the officials reviewing key points starting at Sawah Besar Station and ending at Harmoni Station.

According to a report from PT MRT Jakarta, the commissioning phase for the project is scheduled to begin in mid-2027. The operational target for the Harmoni segment is set for no later than the end of 2027.

Phase 2 Timeline and Technical Specifications

The development extending toward the Kota Tua area is targeted for completion by the end of 2029. This timeline aligns with the expected finalization of the entire main stretch of MRT Phase 2, which covers 22.2 kilometers, by the end of 2029.

During the inspection, Governor Pramono Anung noted that the construction at Sawah Besar and Mangga Besar stations represents the deepest points of the project, reaching 28 meters below ground level.

The project is being executed by a workforce of approximately 3,800 people, all of whom are domestic workers.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka characterized the project as a collaboration between the regional and central governments, managed through PT MRT Jakarta. He confirmed that Construction progress has reached about 59 percent....

East-West MRT Development

Governor Pramono Anung also provided updates on the East-West MRT project. The provincial government is currently advancing the project through the stages of route determination, station placement, and land acquisition.
