James Jordan Teases Future Taylor Sheridan Projects & ‘The Madison’ Role

James Jordan, a veteran of Taylor Sheridan’s expanding universe of neo-Western dramas, is keeping fans guessing about his potential involvement in the upcoming Paramount+ series, The Madison. While remaining tight-lipped about a possible role, Jordan affirmed his unwavering commitment to any project helmed by the prolific writer and creator.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Jordan responded to a direct question about The Madison with a characteristically cryptic “I can neither confirm nor deny.” However, he immediately followed that up with a clear declaration of loyalty: “Anything that Taylor asks me to do, it’s an immediate yes.” This willingness to jump at any opportunity presented by Sheridan speaks to a strong working relationship and a deep respect for the filmmaker’s vision.

Jordan described himself as being firmly within Sheridan’s “wheelhouse of actors that he recycles often,” alongside fellow recurring players Nichole Galicia and Matt Gerald. He expressed genuine gratitude for this consistent collaboration, noting that Sheridan often extends opportunities without even revealing the specifics of the role or storyline. “It’s a real pleasure and an honor,” Jordan said. He recounted instances where Sheridan simply called to gauge his interest in projects like Lioness and Landman, trusting Jordan to commit without knowing the details beforehand.

“He just said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, sir. You just tell me when and where, and I’ll be there.’ That’s always the case for Taylor.”

Jordan’s journey with Sheridan began in 2017 with a role in the critically acclaimed thriller Wind River. He then appeared in Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) before becoming a familiar face on television with his portrayal of Steve Hendon in Yellowstone, a role he held across Seasons 2 through 5 and which resonated with fans. Since then, he’s continued to expand his presence in the Sheridanverse, taking on roles in Mayor of Kingstown (as Ed Simmons), 1883 (as Cookie), Lioness (as Two Cups), and most recently, Landman (as Dale Bradley).

Notably, Landman and Lioness marked Jordan’s first leading roles after years of recurring and guest appearances, signaling a growing trust and confidence from Sheridan in his abilities. This progression suggests a deepening partnership, making the possibility of his appearance in The Madison feel increasingly likely, despite his coy response.

The Madison, set to premiere in 2026, centers on the Clyburn family, who relocate from New York to central Montana following a personal tragedy. The series stars Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer, alongside Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Kevin Zegers, and Will Arnett. The show promises to explore themes of grief, family bonds, and the search for solace in a new environment.

While Jordan remains focused on his current commitments to Landman and Lioness, he hinted at future collaborations with Sheridan, stating, “down the line there’ll be some other stuff where I can pop up and play some interesting characters.” This suggests that even if he doesn’t appear in The Madison, fans can expect to see him continue to contribute to the ever-expanding Sheridanverse for years to come.

The consistent casting of actors like Jordan, Galicia, and Gerald across multiple Sheridan projects has become a hallmark of his storytelling approach. It creates a sense of continuity and familiarity for viewers, fostering a deeper connection to the interconnected world he’s building. This strategy also allows Sheridan to work with actors he trusts and who understand his creative vision, streamlining the production process and ensuring a consistent level of performance.

As Sheridan continues to develop new series and expand his cinematic universe, the question of who will join him on these ventures remains a source of ongoing speculation. However, one thing is clear: James Jordan stands ready to answer the call, reaffirming his place as a key player in the Sheridanverse.
