Jamie Oliver Says Feud With Gordon Ramsay Is Over
Updated June 03, 2025
The long-standing rivalry between celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay appears to have cooled.Oliver recently stated that their “little berating decade” of feuding is behind them, signaling a potential end to the public spats.
The Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay feud initially sparked in 2009 when Oliver took issue with Ramsay’s comments about Australian journalist Tracy Grimshaw. Oliver felt Ramsay’s remarks were disrespectful, especially toward a woman beloved in her country.
Ramsay later apologized for his words, but the tension between the two chefs continued. Ramsay dismissed Oliver as “just a cook” and a “one-pot wonder” after Oliver’s initial criticism.
Despite past jabs, Oliver now says he and Ramsay are “absolutely friends.” He praised Ramsay’s current success, noting he’s “doing things that no chef’s ever done.”
This apparent reconciliation comes shortly after Oliver jokingly called Ramsay a “psychopath” in a TikTok video when asked about the feud. However, Oliver has also expressed a desire to avoid public arguments, especially considering both chefs have children.
In the past, Oliver alluded to his longer tenure in television as a reason why Ramsay’s criticisms didn’t bother him as much. He also noted that he didn’t want to publicly criticize another father, especially after Ramsay’s wife, Tana, suffered a miscarriage.
Ramsay responded to Oliver’s comments about their families, stating that Tana was “mortified” by them. Oliver later clarified that his words were intended to be “fairly grown-up and reasonable” and not offensive.
Oliver stated, “I wish him all the best, and all success. Good luck to him. But we have both got kids, and I don’t know what sort of example we’re setting if we’re arguing like we’re in the playground.”
What’s next
it remains to be seen whether this newfound camaraderie will led to any collaborations between the two chefs. For now, it seems the Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay feud is officially over.
