Japan lifts warning of ‘submarine volcanic eruption tsunami’ in the Pacific Rim

Tonga, an island nation in the South Pacific, has been severely damaged in the aftermath of a tsunami following an underwater volcanic eruption.

Correspondence between New Zealand and Tonga was cut off as submarine cables were damaged by volcanic activity, and boats and other boats hit the beachfront shops.

No casualties were reported.

Evacuation orders were issued for about 230,000 people in 7 prefectures, with a tsunami of about 1 meter in diameter was confirmed in various parts of Japan.

Although there was a warning that a tsunami of up to 3m would come in, the Hawaii Pacific Tsunami Warning Center announced today (16th) at 12:00 noon that the threat of tsunami in the Pacific Rim region, including the United States and Japan, has disappeared.
