Japan defeated Uzbekistan and won the Under-23 Asian Cup thanks to a dramatic late goal.

Japan won 1-0 in the final against Uzbekistan held in Doha, Qatar, thanks to Fuki Yamada’s winning goal in extra time in the second half.

As a result, Japan regained the top spot for the first time in eight years since 2016 and confirmed its qualification for the Paris Olympics by placing first in the Asian quota.

On the other hand, Uzbekistan missed a penalty kick opportunity in extra time in the second half and finished second in two consecutive competitions.
