The Mainichi Shimbun has reported that a transport plane belonging to the Japan Self-Defense Force safely landed in Tokyo on the 2nd local time. This aircraft carried a total of 46 passengers, including Korean and Japanese nationals who were previously residing in Israel.

According to official sources, the Japanese government had dispatched the KC767 aerial refueling and transport aircraft to Jordan, from where it departed to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, en route to its final destination in Japan.

Among the passengers onboard the aircraft, 15 were Korean nationals, while 20 were Japanese. In addition, there were 4 Vietnamese, 1 Taiwanese, and 6 foreign family members accompanying them.

Further reports from Kyodo News state that the transport plane is anticipated to arrive at Tokyo Haneda Airport later this evening, marking the conclusion of their journey.

Expressing full support and cooperation, the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that 15 Korean nationals and one foreign family member, who were residing in Israel, were able to depart the country onboard the Japanese government’s Self-Defense Force transport plane.

As a result, the number of remaining Korean nationals in Israel has reduced to approximately 420 individuals.

This incident marks the second instance where the Japanese government has facilitated the transportation of its citizens through a Self-Defense Force aircraft since the conflict between Israel and Hamas commenced.
