Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and other sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, Japan, it fell 1.32%.

The best performers of the session were Tokuyama Corp. (TYO: ), which rose 2.74% or 48.00 to trade at 1,802.00. Meanwhile, Pacific Cement (TYO: ) added 2.72% or 55.00 points to end at 2,079.00 and Chiyoda Corp. (TYO: ) was up 2.38% or 11.00 points to end at 473.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daiichi Sankyo (TYO: ), which lost 7.02% or 232.00 points to trade at 3,073.00. Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd. (TYO: ) fell 5.80% or 420.00 points to end at 6,820.00 and Shiseido (TYO: ) lost 3.82% or 207.00 points to end at 5,217.00.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, 2,545 stocks fell, outnumbering those that closed higher — 988. At the same time, 229 stocks did not rise or fall, and were basically unchanged.

A measure of implied volatility for options on the Nikkei 225 rose 21.25% to 25.79.

WTI crude oil futures July options contract prices rose 0.84% ​​or 1.02 points to $121.95. Elsewhere in futures, Brent crude oil futures for August delivery in London rose 0.89% (1.09 points) to trade at $123.36, while August gold futures rose 0.01% (0.15) to trade at $1,831.95.

USD/JPY was down 0.06% at 134.32, while EUR/JPY was up 0.51% at 140.57.
