Jeddah: The accused in the stabbing death of a Malappuram resident in Jeddah has been arrested. Kunnelavi alias Unneen Nambiyedath (45), a native of Valiyaparambu, Kottakkal, was killed on Tuesday. An Egyptian national has been arrested in connection with the incident.
It is learned that he was a close acquaintance of the deceased Kunhalavi and that the man who was traveling in the car with Kunhalavi had killed him and snatched the money in his hand. It is learned that the accused, who was on a final exit visa, was caught trying to escape through the airport with the money.
However, no official confirmation has been received from the police in this regard. Kunjalavi, who was working for Al Mamlaka in Jeddah, was killed when he returned with about 80,000 riyals after the company’s collection.
The incident took place in Al Samir around 10am on Tuesday. He was found stabbed to death in a car by friends.
