New Taipei City, Taiwan – The TPBL New taipei Kings cruised to a 96-78 victory over the Siege Lions on Wednesday, securing their second consecutive win. Though, the spotlight shifted from the court to the stage after the game, as star point guard Jeremy Lin playfully addressed his much-discussed appearance at Jay Chou’s concert the previous night.
Lin, who attended Chou’s sold-out show at Taipei arena with teammate Li Qian, admitted to being overwhelmed by the experience.
“I was so nervous, I was off-key,” Lin confessed with a laugh during the post-game press conference. “I even turned red! I practiced beforehand,but putting on the microphone and headset,not being able to hear the music properly… it was really tough.”
Lin’s performance alongside Chou, captured in viral videos, sparked amusement and lighthearted ribbing online.
“I usually sing pretty well with my bandmates,” Lin quipped, “but I’ll never sing in front of 50,000 people again. If you ever ask me to sing in public again, you’re going to have to pay me a lot!”
Lin’s teammate Li Qian jokingly chimed in, “I was too tired from extra practice, so I had to sing.”
Despite the off-key performance, Lin’s humor and self-deprecation endeared him further to fans. The Kings’ victory, coupled with Lin’s recent MVP performance in October and November, solidified his status as a fan favorite.
