Apple TV+ will release the long-delayed limited series “The Savant” this summer, Jessica Chastain confirmed in a recent interview, marking the project’s return after being postponed following the September 2025 assassination of political commentator Charlie Kirk.

The delay was not due to creative or production issues, according to sources close to the production, but rather a strategic pause by Apple TV+ to evaluate the series’ themes in light of the national trauma following Kirk’s death. “The Savant” centers on a gifted but troubled linguist recruited by a covert government unit to decode encrypted communications from domestic terror cells. The series was created by Steven Zaillian and produced by Anonymous Content, with filming completed in early 2025 before the postponement.
