Joe Keery has called out President Donald Trump for defending ICE after an officer fatally shot a US citizen.
On Wednesday (January 8), a 37-year-old poet and mother of three was shot dead behind the wheel of her car by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.
The incident happened on a residential street in Minneapolis and, soon after, the president was speedy to defend the actions of the ICE agent, writing on Truth Social that he had reviewed footage from the moment and concluded that the officer was acting ”in self-defense”.
“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defence,” he said.
He then shared an update about the ICE agent, adding: “It is hard to beleive he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital.”
Trump divided opinion with his comments about the victim – named as Renee Nicole Good – with many criticising him for being so quick to justify the shooting.
one to have spoken out is musician and Stranger Things star Joe Keery, who took to social media to hit out at the president for his lack of compassion for the woman killed. Taking to Instagram Stories, Keery shared a photo of Trump’s Truth Social post, and wrote over the top: “Zero human decency. Stop this man”.

Frey also shared a message aimed directly at ICE, telling agents in the city to “Get the fuck out of Minneapolis.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also called out Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem - who alleged that Good attempted to run over ICE officers in “an act of domestic terrorism” – saying: “You’ve done enough.[The state] doesn’t need any further help from the federal government”.
“To Donald Trump and Kristi Noem: You’ve done enough … I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National guard. We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deplo
