‘King of the Hill’ Actor Jonathan joss dies in San Antonio Shooting

Jonathan Joss, the actor best known for voicing John Redcorn on “King of the hill,” died Sunday in San Antonio after a shooting, police reported. He was 59.
Officers responding to a call on Dorsey Drive found Joss near the road. Emergency responders attempted to save him,but he was pronounced dead at the scene,authorities said.
Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, 56, was arrested and booked Monday on suspicion of murder. His bond was set at $200,000, according to TMZ.
Tristan Kern de gonzales, Joss’s husband, claimed in a Facebook post that they had experienced homophobic harassment and threats before the shooting. He alleged the incident was motivated by homophobia. Gonzales said they were at the site of their burned-down home when a man approached and fired a gun after yelling slurs. Gonzales said Joss pushed him out of the way, saving his life.
San Antonio police refuted claims that the death was a hate crime in a statement posted on X. The department stated that the examination has not revealed evidence linking the murder to Joss’s sexual orientation.
Joss voiced John Redcorn on “King of the Hill” from 1997 to 2009. He also voiced the character in the show’s video game. He had recently lamented not being invited to a “king of the hill” revival event. Season 14 of the show is set to premiere in August, and Joss recorded lines for it before his death, according to Variety.
“This show was a part of my life for many years. That character, that voice, that story…they were my home, my pride, my connection to somthing bigger than myself.”
Joss’s other credits include “Parks and Recreation,” where he played Chief Ken Hotate, and roles in “Tulsa King,” “True Grit,” and several video games.
