Amie Dawn Eggers of Jonesboro has been sentenced to 132 months in federal prison following her involvement in a drug trafficking and money laundering operation in Northeast Arkansas. The sentencing follows a guilty plea entered on September 29, 2025.
Eggers pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit money laundering and the distribution and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual and 500 grams or more of methamphetamine

Federal Investigation and Seizures
The case was the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The operation was designed to dismantle a drug distribution organization operating within the Northeast Arkansas region.
During the course of the investigation, federal agents seized a significant quantity of narcotics, weapons, and cash. The initial seizures included:
- 45 pounds of methamphetamine
- 10 pounds of marijuana
- One pound of cocaine
- Six firearms and various ammunition
- $125,000 in drug proceeds
A subsequent arrest operation conducted on April 16, 2024, led to the recovery of additional assets. During this operation, agents seized more methamphetamine, ammunition, and $28,000 in suspected drug proceeds. Agents also recovered three firearms, one of which had been defaced.
Criminal Activities and Arrest
Investigators determined that Eggers was a member of the criminal organization responsible for distributing methamphetamine throughout Northeast Arkansas. Evidence revealed that Eggers traveled to Houston in December 2022 to purchase large quantities of the drug from the leader of the organization, Cesar Cortez-Rocha.
On December 29, 2022, federal agents observed Eggers traveling back to Arkansas. Agents conducted a traffic stop in Malvern, where Eggers waived her Miranda rights and admitted to possessing marijuana and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
According to the DEA Southeast Laboratory, the total weight of the controlled substances found in the vehicle was 921.5 grams, which is slightly over two pounds.
Prior Criminal History
The current charges follow a previous federal legal matter involving Eggers. On August 6, 2024, Eggers was convicted in the Western District of Arkansas for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
For that conviction, she received a sentence of 156 months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release.
