Jordan challenges Iraq to snatch a ticket to the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup

The Iraqi national team will meet its brother Jordan in an all-Arab confrontation this afternoon, Monday, at the summit of the round of 16 competitions of the 2023 Asian Nations Cup currently being held in Côte d’Ivoire.

Khalifa International Stadium will host a strong Arab summit between Iraq and Jordan, at 1:30 pm today, Cairo time, in the 2023 Asian Cup final in Qatar.

The Iraqi team qualified for the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Nations Cup in Qatar, topping Group D with a full score of nine points, while the Jordanian team advanced to the round of 16 of the Asian Nations Cup among the best four teams in third place.

This is the first time that the Iraqi national team has achieved the full mark in the group stage of the Asian Cup, and for the first time it has achieved 3 consecutive victories in the tournament.

The current generation of the Iraqi national team outperformed the Al-Rafidain Lions, champions of the 2007 Asian Cup, as the team qualified at that time with 5 points collected from a 3-1 win over Australia, a 1-1 draw with Thailand, and a scoreless draw with Oman.
