JSC and JDC exams will no longer be held

The Prime Minister has agreed to the summary proposal sent by the Ministry of Education in this regard.

This information is known from the office order signed by Akter Unnecha Shiuli, Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Monday.

Akhtar Unnecha Shiuli told Ajker newspaper, “There is no provision for taking JSC and JDC exams in the National Curriculum Framework-2021.” Therefore, a proposal was sent to the Prime Minister regarding the elimination of these two public examinations. He approved it.’

JSC and JDC exams have not been held in the new curriculum. And the new curriculum has started in the first, sixth and seventh classes from this year. It will start next year in second, third, fourth, eighth and ninth classes. Then in 2025 it will be started in fifth and tenth class. The new curriculum will be introduced in 2026 and 2027 in class 11 and class 12 of higher secondary.

Besides, the new curriculum will bring major changes in assessment. In this there will be no examination in primary till third class. The entire assessment will be through continuous learning activities in the school. And at the secondary level, students will sit for the first public examination in class 10. After that, two public examinations will be held in class XI and XII. Higher secondary result will be declared by adding the result of the two exams.

Generally, JSC and JDC exams are held in November every year. But due to corona infection, the educational institution was closed in March 2020. Since then these two public examinations have not been conducted.
