Abe Uta Steals the Show in Glamorous Outfit at Wacoal Event
Abe Uta, a member of the Paris Olympics women’s 52 kg judo team, attended the Wacoal “Love your moment Garden” press conference in Tokyo on the 5th. Unlike her usual judo uniforms and sportswear, she appeared in a glamorous outfit of a white-based floral lace jacket and long skirt, drawing sighs of admiration from the audience.
The event, which will be held for three days only, from the 6th to the 8th of this month, aims to provide a chance for attendees to face themselves and feel self-love while surrounded by their favorite scent and flowers. Abe said with a smile about her costume, “I incorporated a floral pattern to match the venue, and used colorful floral patterns. I think I’m usually very memorable in my judo uniform, so I hope I can show a different side of myself.”
Actress Mirai Shida and former Sakurazaka46 member and actress Yuuka Sugai also attended the event. Shida, who has seen their success to date, said, “I’m deeply moved and respectful,” while Sugai, who is also involved in equestrian sports and has served as a special ambassador for the Japan Equestrian Federation, said, “Your passion for judo and your ability to compete on the world stage despite your young age are incredible. I’m very happy to have met you.” Abe responded, “I’ve seen you two on TV, so I was nervous from the start of our meeting. It’s an honor to be able to talk with you two.”
Abe lost in the second round of the individual competition at the Paris Olympics, missing out on a second consecutive victory for his brother and sister, Hifumi. However, he contributed to Japan’s silver medal win in the mixed team competition, and has already stated that he will be aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In a talk show, when asked “When was the moment when you felt like you loved yourself?” Abe answered, ”It was the moment when I was able to take a step forward, even in a difficult situation.” As if hinting at the situation and state of mind he finds himself in, he expressed his intention to take a step forward in four years’ time.
