Former World Boxing Council middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is currently in Mexican custody, having been deported by the United States on Monday. President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the deportation, stating an arrest warrant was already in place in Mexico. Chavez Jr. was transferred to a federal prison in Hermosillo, Sonora, after being apprehended at a checkpoint in Nogales at 11:53 am local time (18:53 GMT), reportedly wearing a black hoodie and red sneakers.

Allegations of Criminal Ties
