June 2025 is shaping up to be a notable month for hip hop, with highly anticipated album releases from several major artists. lil Wayne, Young Thug, and Bas are among those dropping new projects.
Lil Wayne is set to release tha Carter VI on June 6, ending a long wait for fans. The album follows Funeral (2020) and Tha Carter V (2018). Wayne has teased collaborations with MGK, Wyclef, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, and Bono.
Young Thug is also making a comeback with Uyi Scuti after facing legal challenges. The Atlanta rapper announced the album in March and released the single “Money on Money” featuring Future in April. Thug described himself as “one of the biggest stars” when explaining the album’s title.
Bas will release melanchronica on June 16, a collaborative project with the English electronic band The Hics. The album features 10 songs, including “Norbit” featuring Ab-Soul and “Erewhon” with Saba.
