K-Rail did not respond to several letters – Railway Board in the High Court

Kochi: The Railway Board has clarified in the High Court that the K-Rail Corporation is yet to provide details regarding the DPR of the Silver Line project. Details such as private land and railway land that require alignment are not transferred. The Railway Board told the High Court that it had sent several letters to K Rail asking for an explanation, but there had been no response.

There were earlier indications that the government and the K-Rail Corporation were abandoning the Silver Line. The Railways have now provided information to the High Court to support it. The Union Ministry of Railways was yet to approve the DPR for the Silver Line project. The central government had taken the stand that there were some doubts in the project. The High Court had asked the central government if there is any change in it. At that stage, the central government has filed a reply in this regard in the High Court.

The Railways have already sent several letters to the K Rail Corporation asking for an explanation regarding the Silver Line DPR. But no answer has been received so far The answer clearly states that the K Rail Corporation has been written several times asking for information regarding issues related to alignment, land acquisition, how much private land will be required for the project and how much railway land will be required. they must be acquired.

Earlier, when the Ministry of Railways raised some criticisms about the DPR, K-Rail Corporation also explained that it would give a proper reply to all of them. But the Central Railway Board has informed the High Court that the Central Railway Ministry has not received any such explanation so far. The latest letter was sent by Central Railway Board on the 30th of last month. The Deputy Solicitor General replied in writing that no reply had yet been received.
