Standing at a height of 188cm and weighing 83kg, Matsui was born on October 16, 1985, in Tokyo, Japan. He attended Columbia University, where he honed his basketball abilities.
Throughout his career, Matsui has played for various esteemed teams, including Rera Kamuy Hokkaido, Hitachi Sunrockers, Toyota Motor Alvark (later known as Toyota Motor Alvark Tokyo), Seahorse Mikawa, Kyoto Hannah, and Grouse Toyama. Now, he is ready to embark on a new chapter with Kagawa Five Arrows.
In a personal message, Matsui expressed his gratitude to Head Coach Yabuuchi, Representative Director/GM Ikuoka, and everyone involved with Kagawa Five Arrows for giving him this opportunity.
