Kamata started on the bench but came on in the 18th minute of the first half due to an injury to midfielder Eze. Five minutes later, Aston Villa equalized after being robbed of the ball in midfield. However, Crystal Palace got their revenge in the 19th minute of the second half. Kamata took advantage of an opponent’s missed pass, cut in from the left, and drove a sharp shot into the left corner from the penalty arc.
Kamata’s aggressiveness paid off with five shots despite coming on as a substitute. His goal was his second since joining Norwich in the second round of the League Cup on August 27th. The team continued to win 2-1 and advance to the final eight.
