Karataş Agricultural Organized Industrial Zone Protocol Signed

The signing ceremony of the protocol regarding the infrastructure work of the Karataş Agricultural Organized Industrial Zone (Greenhouse), located in the Karataş district of Adana, was held under the chairmanship of Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger.

The ceremony was attended by Adana Chamber of Commerce President Yücel Bayram and Ziver İnşaat A.Ş. It was held in the Governors’ Meeting Hall with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Murat Demirci.

The protocol covers the infrastructure works of Karataş TDİOSB, which has an area of 320 hectares, such as roads, drinking water, waste water, rain water, electricity distribution network, environmental lighting and telecommunication network.

Employment Opportunities for 5,000 People

Governor Köşger, in his speech at the ceremony, said, “With Karataş Agriculture-Based Specialized OIZ (Greenhouse), the plan is to produce 100,000 tons of tomatoes per year with soilless agriculture technique on the unsuited abandoned land for agriculture in Karataş district, and with this project, Karataş district will be the heart of the region in vegetable production, Adana” “He said that it will amount to 10% of the total revenue of Turkey’s crop production, which is a total of 5,000 people, 3,750 of which women will be employed with the project, and he wished that the project, which will increase our city’s employment power and contribute to the city’s economy, will be promising for our city.” he said.
