Agency Veterans Launch Thyrd Near Hamburg
The founders bring extensive experience from senior leadership roles across major agencies and corporate groups.
Deep Industry Roots at Major Media Groups
Karsten Krämer most recently served as the chief operating officer and managing director at C3 Creative Code and Content, where he oversaw the creation of the Cyan consulting unit and managed content ecosystems alongside artificial intelligence strategies. Prior to his tenure at C3, which began in 2014, Krämer led Burda Creative and held positions at Bertelsmann, Deutsche Telekom, Gruner + Jahr, and T-Online, according to the source reports.
Verena Letzner joins the venture after working as a managing director within the Serviceplan Group. She joined Plan.Net in 2015, handling social media account management and content management before stepping into executive leadership at Plan.Net Neo. During her time there, she established the marketing governance consulting practice, which concentrates on structural frameworks, processes, and organizational setups for digital marketing. Her career began at Hubert Burda Media, where she worked in cross-media marketing and directed social media and e-commerce initiatives.
Bridging the Gap Between Strategy and Execution
The agency name stems from the English word “third,” reflecting the founders’ goal to act as an independent voice that bridges high-level planning and practical execution.

“Unternehmen erwarten heute Strategie, die es in die Wirklichkeit schafft – und das in einem Tempo, das viele etablierte Modelle nicht liefern können,” Karsten Krämer stated, as reported by cpmonitor.de. He noted that observing large organizations struggle from both internal and external perspectives revealed a distinct market gap that Thyrd aims to bridge without compromising between conceptual design and hands-on delivery.
Verena Letzner emphasized that the founders operate as senior advisors who actively build alongside their clients rather than advising from the sidelines. “Wir sind nicht die Berater an der Seitenlinie sondern Senior Advisors, die selbst mit anpacken,” Letzner said, according to cpmonitor.de. The firm pairs this advisory approach with an established network of external specialists to support client transformations.
Securing Early Mandates in Retail and Entertainment
Thyrd enters the market with four active mandates spanning retail, professional services, consumer goods, and entertainment sectors, according to cpmonitor.de and prreport.de. The new consultancy has not yet disclosed the specific names of these initial clients.

By blending agency backgrounds with corporate leadership experience, Krämer and Letzner intend to guide companies through structural shifts driven by digital changes and evolving marketing demands.
