Karthi’s Response to Fans Asking for Good Tamil Films Like Malayalam Movies

Meiyazhakan: Karthi’s Next Film After Japan

Karthi’s next film, Meiyazhakan, is a highly anticipated project. The actor revealed that he first heard the story of the film through someone else. Director Prem Kumar had prepared the story in the form of a novel, which Karthi read and immediately wanted to turn into a film.

Karthi approached Suriya with the story, and the latter agreed to produce the film under 2D productions. The project gained further momentum when Arvind Swamy came on board.

Karthi’s Answer to Fans Asking for Good Tamil Films

Karthi often receives requests from fans to create films similar to good Malayalam movies. The actor believes that Meiyazhakan is the answer to such queries. He expressed his thoughts at the promotional event of Meiyazhakan.

“I didn’t hear the story of this film from Prem. It was a second-hand story. There was no script then. Prem wrote this story as a novel. I called Prem, bought the novel, and read it. It was a very touching story. I told Prem that I would make it into a screenplay,” Karthi said.

Karthi approached Chetan with the story, and the latter agreed to produce it. The project gained further momentum when Arvind Swamy came on board. Karthi expressed his happiness about the film’s production and his response to fans asking for good Tamil films.

“When we watch many shows, people ask us, ‘Malayalam is making good films now, when will such a film come here?’ Meiyazhakan is the answer to those who ask this,” Karthi said.
