U.S. Rep. Angie ‍Craig, representing Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District,⁤ received an Impact Award from the James Beard⁤ Foundation.⁣ These awards recognize “changemakers actively working to push for standards that create a more equitable, lasting, and economically viable restaurant industry and food system for producers, workers, ⁢and consumers alike.”

Craig, unable to attend the Chicago ceremony due to the ongoing search for a suspect in the shootings of state officials, sent⁣ a statement expressing her gratitude.

“Food should not be a privilege – but the ability to gather around the dinner table with folks you love certainly is.
