KBS planned a tribute trot musical for longevity MC Song Hae as the 2022 Lunar New Year project. In a new format called a trot musical, junior singers Dong-Won Jeong, Chan-Won Lee, Young-Tak, and Shin-Yoo act as Song-Hae by age and show the life history of Song-Hae.
Previously, KBS planned ‘Hangawi, Korea Again, Again Na Hoon-ah’ in 2020, and recorded an audience rating of over 20% based on Nielsen Korea standards at the time. As a Lunar New Year project last year, ‘Chosun Pop Again’ was planned, and large-scale projects were presented for each holiday.
On the 24th, KBS was organized as the 2022 Lunar New Year’s plan, ‘Thank you everyone. It is said that it will be a tribute performance performed by junior singers for the national MC Song Hae, who has kept the longevity program ‘National Singing Pride’, and it will be a gift Song Hae gives to viewers.
This trot musical was reconstructed with imagination based on the true story of Song Hae’s 96-year life history. This is the first stage that KBS has attempted in the form of a ‘trot musical’ that combines stage, acting, and singing.
Along with the main character, Song Hae, Jeong Dong-won, Lee Chan-won, Yeong-tak, and Shin-yu, who came from the National Singing Contest, take on the roles of Song Hae by age. Ae-ri Park, a traditional musician, plays the role of Song Hae’s mother, and figures who shined in singing pride such as So-hee Song, Seo-jin Park, Tae-yeon Kim, and Jam-eon Hong will also appear.
The broadcast will air on January 31st at 7:50 PM on KBS 2TV for 120 minutes.
