Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats added center Franck Kepnang to the roster via the transfer portal on May 9, 2026.
Kepnang, a 6-foot-11 and 250-pound center, was brought in to address a need for more frontcourt depth, size, and rim protection. He was previously a top 50 recruit in 2020.
During the 2025-26 season with the Washington Huskies, Kepnang appeared in 27 games. He averaged 2.1 blocks per game in approximately 22 minutes of play. His contributions on the boards included an average of 6.3 rebounds per contest, while he averaged 6.2 points per game.
Kepnang’s collegiate career began with the Oregon Ducks, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Washington.
The addition of Kepnang creates a reunion between the center and new Wildcats point guard Zoom Diallo, who also played for Washington during the 2025-26 season.
The frontcourt configuration for the Wildcats may further develop depending on the status of Malachi Moreno. If Moreno returns, the roster will feature a combination of both centers.
Kepnang requires a waiver to be eligible for another season of college basketball.
