Kerala on High Alert: Heavy Rains Lash State, Yellow Warning Issued for Multiple Districts
Thiruvananthapuram > It rains in Kerala. According to the Central Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in isolated places on November 4 and 8. A cyclonic vortex is located over the southeastern Bay of Bengal. The low pressure belt extends from south-eastern Bay of Bengal to south Tamil Nadu. A cyclonic gyre is located in the southeastern Arabian Sea. Accordingly, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Kerala for the next 5 days.
The Central Meteorological Department today announced yellow alert in six districts of the state. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts are on high alert. Yellow alert was declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts on July 8. Chance of isolated scattered rain. Precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in the 24 hours.
