“I have nothing else to say.”

On August 2 last year, when the Ministry of National Defense recovered the documents of the “Corporal Chae incident”, it still did not reveal its position regarding the details of the phone call it had with Public Service Discipline Secretary Lee Si- won.

“The investigating agency has provided sufficient answers…”.

Legal Affairs Officer Yoo is a key figure who appears throughout the entire process of suspicion of external pressure in Marine Corporal Chae’s case.

On July 31 last year, former National Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop reportedly called the head of the Marine Corps investigation team after he rejected the Marine Corps’ transfer of the case to the police and told him to “remove the case” suspect and the details of the charges.”

On Aug. 2 last year, the Marine Corps investigation team was accused of calling and negotiating with a manager from the Gyeongbuk police agency while recovering case documents that had been transferred to the police.

When the investigative headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense reviewed the case after the recovery of the incident, it was recommended to reduce the number of suspects from eight to two.

The Corruption Investigation Bureau is said to have asked Legal Affairs Officer Yoo under the instructions of who was involved in each trial and why he spoke with Secretary Lee Si-won on the day of retrieving the documents.

The Corruption Investigation Bureau, which summoned key suspects for the first time since the search and seizure last January, is also coordinating the investigation program with Park Kyung-hoon, former acting head of the Investigation Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, which examined the investigation documents.

Based on this investigation, the Corruption Investigation Bureau is expected to summon and interrogate key suspects in turn, including Marine Corps Commandant Kim Gye-hwan and former National Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop.
