The 1st edition of the “Together for the Fatherland” tournament ended in apotheosis this Sunday, October 27 at the Stade Omnisports in Djakotomey. A shock contest that attacked etoile FC against its counterpart Volcan FC.
During the regulation minutes, no team was able to shake off the scorer despite the multiple demonstrations. Volcan FC only won in the decisive penalty shootout, taking the prestigious trophy of the season. Before the official kickoff, the promoter, Yacinthe Gbehoundji, dressed in national colours, returned to the main objectives of the competition. For him, in addition to the blossoming of men’s football talents on the ground, the tournament “Together to the Fatherland” awakens the values of coexistence integrity, brotherhood, social peace, dedication and respect for the public which contribute to the consolidation of the homeland. Taking advantage of this solemn occasion, Yacinthe Gbehoundji acknowledged the merits of President Patrice Talon for the construction of the Djakotomey Omnisports stadium which allows young players to proudly express their talent.
