Vladivostok, Russia – After a four-year absence, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has made his much-anticipated return to Russia. Sources confirm that he arrived in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai in the Far East on the 11th. This visit marks a significant moment in diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to local officials in Vladivostok, preparations are underway for Chairman Kim’s arrival at Vladivostok Station on the 11th. He will then transfer to a limousine and proceed directly to the Far East Federal University, where the Eastern Economic Forum is scheduled to take place.

“It is not currently known whether Chairman Kim will arrive in the morning or afternoon, and it’s possible that his schedule may change depending on the circumstances,” stated one local official.

Earlier, the Russian government confirmed President Putin’s attendance at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum on the 12th, making it highly likely that the North Korea-Russia summit will be held on the same day.

However, the arrival of the North Korean advance team in Vladivostok before the summit has not been officially confirmed.

Kim Jong-un’s last visit to Vladivostok took place on April 24, 2019, approximately four years and four months ago. During this visit, he held a two-night, three-day summit with President Putin, before returning to North Korea.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who is expected to revisit Russia for the first time in four years, is said to have arrived in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai in the Far East on the 11th.

According to a local multiple official in Vladivostok on the 8th local time, the Russian side is internally preparing for a schedule where Chairman Kim arrives at Vladivostok Station on a dedicated train on the 11th, transfers to a limousine, and goes directly to the Far East Federal University, where the Eastern Economic Forum will be held.

Local officials said, “However, it is not known whether Chairman Kim will arrive in the morning or afternoon, and I heard that the schedule may change depending on the situation.”

Earlier, the Russian government announced that President Putin would attend the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum which will be held on the 12th local time.

Given the internal preparations of the Russian side and President Putin’s schedule, the North Korea-Russia summit is very likely to be held on the same day as the plenary session of the forum.

However, it is still not confirmed whether the North Korean advance team has already entered Vladivostok before the start of this summit.

On April 24, 2019, four years and four months ago, Chairman Kim Jong-un visited Vladivostok for the first time after coming to power, held a summit with President Putin for two nights and three days, and returned to North Korea.
