Kim Min-hee Opens Up About Her Divorce and 10-Year Secret

Actress Kim Min-hee recently appeared on KBS 2TV’s ‘Park Won-sook’s Let’s Live Together’, where she shared her story about her divorce and the reasons behind keeping it a secret for 10 years.

Kim Min-hee revealed that she got divorced in 2012 and has been raising her child alone since then. Her child is now 25 years old and was in the third grade of elementary school at the time of the divorce.

She shared a heart-wrenching story about her child’s reaction to her situation. “One day, I heard an ambulance outside, and my child, who was in the third grade, said he had to protect me. He unplugged the electric cord in the house, stood up, urinated, and cried. That was the first time I knew something was wrong, but there was no turning back.”

Kim Min-hee explained that she couldn’t reveal her divorce earlier because her ex-husband was diagnosed with cancer after their divorce. The situation was so serious that the hospital asked her to leave, and she was afraid of what might happen. Fortunately, her ex-husband’s health improved, and she felt that she no longer had to hide the truth.

She confessed that she hated lying about her situation and started having panic attacks because she couldn’t speak honestly. “That’s why I’m confessing honestly now,” she said.

Kim Min-hee also shared her concerns about being approached by men when they found out she was divorced. “Even though they are someone’s husband, they would ask me to go out at night. It’s a mess. I think I dated the wrong person, and it’s harder than the divorce itself.”

Kim Min-hee’s story highlights the challenges she faced as a single mother and the societal pressures that led her to keep her divorce a secret for so long.
